Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to operational queries regarding ITIL® certifications, project management methodologies, and customizable leadership programs.

What is ITIL and why is it important?

ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) is the global standard framework for IT Service Management (ITSM). It provides best practices for aligning IT services with the needs of businesses, improving customer satisfaction, reducing operational costs, and supporting digital transformation.

What is the difference between ITIL 4 and ITIL v3?

ITIL v3 structured ITSM around a linear 5-stage Service Lifecycle. ITIL 4 replaces this with the Service Value System (SVS) and the 6-activity Service Value Chain. This dynamic, holistic model integrates modern practices like Agile, DevOps, and Lean, replacing rigid 'processes' with collaborative 'practices'.

How long does it take to complete ITIL certification?

Our ITIL 4 Foundation certification training is a comprehensive 3-day course. The proctored multiple-choice exam is taken online after the course, and results are available almost immediately. Higher-level Specialist and Strategic courses typically take 3 to 5 days.

What is the pass rate for the ITIL 4 Foundation exam?

The ITIL 4 Foundation exam consists of 40 multiple-choice questions with a time limit of 60 minutes. The passing score is 65% (26/40 correct answers). Thanks to our certified instruction and practice exam preparation, Aspen Transformation students achieve an exceptionally high pass rate.

Can I take the course online or only in-person?

We offer flexible delivery methods to suit all needs: live virtual instructor-led courses for individuals and remote teams, as well as customized on-site or hybrid training workshops for corporate groups.

Do you offer corporate training for our entire team?

Yes, we specialize in private corporate training. We can tailor the curriculum to your organization's specific challenges and goals, delivering the training virtually, on-site, or in a hybrid format, combined with interactive business simulations.

What is the difference between ITIL and PRINCE2?

ITIL is focused on managing ongoing IT services throughout their lifecycle. PRINCE2 (Projects in Controlled Environments) is a structured project management methodology for managing temporary projects. They are highly complementary: PRINCE2 is used to build or transition a service, while ITIL is used to operate and support it.

How can leadership development training benefit my organization?

Leadership development training—such as Servant Leadership and Outward Mindset—builds trust, eliminates organizational silos, improves team collaboration, and reduces resistance to change, ensuring your technology and business transformation initiatives succeed.

What is included in the course materials?

All courses include official digital student workbooks, practice exams, case studies, hands-on exercises, and the official exam voucher (where applicable) with options for a second exam attempt.

Can I retake the course or exam if I don't pass the first time?

Yes, we offer an optional 'Take2' exam option which allows you to schedule a retake exam if you don't pass on your first attempt. Contact us during enrollment to add this peace-of-mind option.
